• To ensure that the Easy Transfer Chair is suitable for you, refer to this FAQ checklist of the key factors to consider:

  1. USER SUITABILITY

  The Transfer Chair is not designed for users who are very weak or completely bedridden. The user should have the upper body strength to sit upright, hold the armrests and lift the buttocks up by about 3 inches, in order for the seat plates and/or cushion to slide underneath.

  2. SURROUNDINGS

  The seat plates need to open in order for the user to get in and out of the Transfer Chair. A minimum clear space of 38" (95 cm) is needed, and this should not be obstructed by armrests, bedrails or walls. Ensure that the surrounding areas have sufficient clearance space.

  3. DOOR WIDTH

  The overall width of the Transfer Chair is 24" (60 cm) for the 19" version, and 28" (70 cm) for the 20" version. Do ensure your door width is able to accommodate these measurements.

  4. MAXIMUM SEAT HEIGHT

  The maximum seat height of the Transfer Chair is 22.8" (57 cm). Do ensure that the height of the bed and other furniture you plan to use the Transfer Chair with is lower than 22.8" (57 cm).

  5. GROUND CLEARANCE

  The Transfer Chair requires the rear wheels to glide underneath furniture such as the bed or any other furniture you plan to use the chair with. For this, a minimum ground clearance of 4.6" (11.5 cm) is required. Do also note the external leg width is 20" (51 cm) for the 19" version, and 24" (60 cm) for the 20" version.

  6. SEAT MATERIAL

  The seat plates are made of steel, which may be hard and cold, with a commode hole in the center. If the user is intending to use the Transfer Chair for toileting, do check with the user if they are comfortable with sitting on the seat plates.
