Easy Indoor Exercises You Can Do

Posted by Shermaine Goh on

There are many things you can do to include a workout in your daily routine! In this post, we will share with you how you can easily get your heart pumping at home!

1. Using a Pedaler

We all know that cycling is a great exercise that helps build muscle strength and increase flexibility, it also strengthens bones! However, if you don't feel confident on a physical bike, or you are not one to be out in the sun for long periods of time, a pedaler may be a better choice for you!

With the pedaler, you can simulate cycling in the comfort of your own home, and you can even read a book, or watch your favourite Korean drama while at it! Pedaling has its own benefits, like improving circulation, coordination, increase muscle strength and range of motion.

2. Hand Exercisers

Foam-based stress balls or silicone-based egg hand exercisers are great for building strength in hands and arms, they also lessen pain and rigidity in fingers.

Our hands are very important in our daily tasks and routine. As we grow older, our hands lose strength and that can become an inconvenience in our daily life. Thus, it is important that we consciously work out our hands to maintain strength.

3. Resistance Bands

Exercising with resistance bands is like exercising with weights. Resistance bands are affordable and portable, you can use it anytime, anywhere!

a. Simple Leg Workout

b. Simple Arm Workout

A simple resistance band allows you to work out your entire body. It comes in different resistance levels so you can adapt easily for multiple fitness levels.

4. Walking

Simply walking is a very great exercise especially for elderly that is starting to lose leg strength. If they are not confident of walking on their own, they can explore mobility aid options to help them walk with ease and comfort.

If a single handed support is needed, you can explore a walking cane, and on top of that, you can get a quad cane tip so that it is free standing and can be place anywhere at home!

If two-handed support is needed, there are always options like a walker or a rollator!

With two-handed support, elderly feel more safe to walk on their own and they would not have a problem getting around their house. This would encourage them to walk more which would help train and improve their leg strength!

You can always work out, even if you are not an outdoor person! There are no excuses now, start moving today!
